Can my instructor pick me up at work?
Yes, that is one of the most practical parts of learning with Scoobz. You are collected at home, school or work and brought back afterwards. For people employed in Veldhoven, a lesson can start at the office and finish at home, or the other way round. Lessons that begin near De Run immediately put you into realistic work traffic. You learn to deal with vans, cars and cyclists all heading the same way at the same time. Employees who live in Eindhoven, Best or Waalre are collected there as well. You only need to give the address when you plan the lesson.
I travel a lot for my job. What if I miss a few weeks?
That happens to many international employees, and it is not a problem. You schedule lessons yourself, so you simply plan none while you are away. Your fixed instructor keeps track of where you stopped. The first lesson after a break usually includes a short recap of earlier skills before moving on. Longer lessons of 90 or 120 minutes help if you want to catch up faster. Keep one thing in mind. Your CBR theory certificate stays valid for one and a half years, so long breaks should not push your practical exam beyond that date. Unused lessons in a package are refunded if plans change completely.
Is a crash course possible before a deadline?
Yes, Scoobz offers crash courses. Lessons are then scheduled close together, so your progress builds quickly. This suits people with a fixed date, for example a new role that requires driving. Since there is no waiting list, you can begin almost immediately. We cannot promise how many weeks it takes, because that depends on your level and on exam availability at the nearest CBR exam centre. What we can do is plan intensively and request the exam once you are ready. A crash course asks a lot of your energy. Combining it with a demanding job works best with lessons in the evening or at the weekend.
Can I use my foreign licence instead of taking lessons?
Possibly, but that depends on where it was issued. Some foreign licences can be exchanged for a Dutch one, while others cannot. The rules differ per country and can be complex, so ask the official authorities about your own case. Scoobz does not make promises about exchanges. Even when the CBR exams are needed, previous experience still helps. Many drivers from abroad mainly need to adjust to Dutch habits. Think of priority from the right, cyclists at every turn and lane discipline on the A2. A free trial lesson in Veldhoven quickly shows how much preparation you really need.
How many lessons do internationals usually need?
There is no single number. A complete beginner needs far more lessons than someone who drove abroad for years. Age, confidence and how often you drive also play a role. That is why every learner starts with a free trial lesson and a personal lesson plan. Experienced drivers sometimes manage with package A, which has 8 lessons, or package B with 16 lessons and the exam. Beginners more often choose package C with 24 lessons or package D with 34. You get an honest estimate after your instructor has seen you drive. Lessons you do not use from a package are refunded, so choosing a larger one carries little risk.
Which package is chosen most often?
Package D, Zorgeloos, is chosen most often. It contains 34 lessons of 60 minutes, the CBR practical exam and help with exam anxiety, for €2,702 including VAT. Payment can be spread in instalments. Busy people often value the margin it offers. If a hectic month at work slows down your progress, extra lessons are already in the package. Package C, Compleet, is a lighter option with 24 lessons, the exam and instalments for €2,046. All packages come with a fixed instructor and pick up from work or home. The trial lesson helps you choose between them.
Will I drive on the motorway before my exam?
Yes, motorway practice is part of a complete preparation. In Veldhoven that is easy to arrange, as the A2 and A67 are very close. Once you handle town traffic and roundabouts confidently, routes start to include joining, driving and leaving the motorway. Trips towards Eindhoven or Best are useful for this. You practise merging from the acceleration lane, keeping a safe distance and changing lanes with a shoulder check. The guide on this page explains each of these steps in detail. A longer lesson of 90 or 120 minutes is often the best choice for these sessions, since the drive out and back takes time.
Where do I sign up for a free trial lesson?
Use the form on this website. Choose the free trial lesson, enter your pick up address and mention that you want lessons in English. Adding your usual working hours helps us suggest suitable times, including evenings and weekends. We then confirm the appointment with you. During the trial, you are collected and drive a short route in Veldhoven or wherever you were picked up. Your level is assessed and you can ask anything about the process. There are no costs and no obligations. If you like the approach, our driving school Veldhoven team can start your lessons without delay.
